Our story

Forty million years, two hands

Şan Amber began in 1998 at a small bench, with a single file and a handful of raw amber. Three generations now work in the same workshop, and most of our tools are the ones we started with.

Every stone reaches us raw. We read its grain, choose the direction of the cut accordingly, then polish it for days using nothing but water and felt. We never dye, heat-treat for colour, or fill a stone.

Why natural stone

How we work

Every batch of rough stone is sorted by hand. Anything cracked, sandy or off-colour is set aside; only stones with a clean vein reach the bench.
Amber is a soft stone, so the lathe runs slowly and under water. Beads are drilled by hand and the rough shape is cut with a file.
Polishing is done in three stages with felt and pure water. No lacquer, varnish or coating is used — the shine is the stone itself.
Each piece ships in a velvet pouch and box together with its certificate of authenticity. Every shipment is insured.
